We had to get shuttled out of Brooklyn and NYC because there wasn't a great route out of the city so by the time we started somewhere in New Jersey, it was close to noon. I think everyone's muscles were waiting anxiously to get started because once we did get going, we started hammering. We had great open roads, some rollers, some wet conditions, but few mechanicals, flats, and no bridges or food poisoning to contend with so we opened it up pretty good.
Here's a quick shot of us crossing a picturesque country bridge. We were moving so fast, you could only get our legs in the picture ;)
And here's another shot of the whole crew lining up for a pic on a rural, dirt road in front of a farm (check out my red rocket bike that enables me to go fast).
Even though we got a late start, we hammered home a strong pace and completed about 65 miles from somewhere in Jersey to Princeton. We were all pretty beat from the days riding so while we all had aspirations to go onto the Princeton campus and spend time there, we all ended up chilling out at the hotel and going to bed early.
It was hard to think that the next day would be my last day riding in Pablove Across America 2012. Hard to believe how much we've accomplished this year and also all all the great friends, dads, and fellow riders I've met along the way.
