Day 5 was a 'break' day which meant that we were going to spend the day riding around central park in NYC and a number of us were going to spend some time in the afternoon visiting Mt. Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital to bring some smiles to kids faces.
We were escorted by a couple of guys from the NYC Rapha Cycling team and after a short ride over the George Washington Bridge (don't worry no wipeouts this time), we made our way into central park.
Once we arrived at Central Park, we did our video dedication of the day and posed for a few photos for the paparazzi.
After a short snack we took to some friendly laps around central park. Here's me looking all awesome as I dusted the entire pack (just kidding, I think I was actually lost at this point)
After riding in Central Park, a small group of us, including Jeff Castelaz and his wife Jo Ann Thrailkil (founders of Pablove Foundation), and a couple of other dads including myself went to Mt. Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital to try and spread some love for kids undergoing treatment.
The Kravis Children's Hospital has an in-hospital network where they do their own programming and broadcasting of special events and guests that is streamed to all the Mt. Sinai hospitals. We got to participate in a 30 minute segment where we talked all about Pablove Across America, shared stories from the road, and even got to take live questions from kids that could call into the show. We even got to participate in some trivia with the kids over the phone. It was a pretty amazing setup and I was grateful to participate in it. I'm pretty sure that 4 goofy guys wearing pink spandex brought some smiles to the kiddos who were watching ;) Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of us on the air, but snapped this shot of us goofing around before the show started.
