PAA 2012 - Day 3 - Dedicated to Keira

"Make an obstacle an opportunity, make a negative a positive" -- Lance Armstrong

‎2 years ago today, Keira was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma/OMS.  It seems like ages ago when we were entering into that nightmare as today, I am filled with positivity, joy and encouragement around how far she has come.  All the OT, PT, Speech, long treatment days at LPCH, and evaluations, were also filled with happy memories of IV cart surfing, spending birthdays in the treatment room, pet therapy, special treats after therapy, and so much more.  OMS is part of our life, the good, the bad and everything in between.  And while there is still so much unknown about Keira's path, on this day 2 years later, I look as much forward as I reflect on how far we have come.

Keira has been an endless source of inspiration, strength and courage in our family as she's battled the many deficits of OMS and ongoing treatment.   To a degree, I think we all draw our strength from hers and as a reflection of that, we have all seen how we can take the negative and turn it into a positive.

Many of you have supported us throughout this journey and if you haven't already, please take a moment to support our efforts to fund OMS research: http://stayclassy.org/naveen

And Keira, thank you for being such a source of sunshine and awesomeness in our lives...today I rode for you.
