Akemi

We woke up this morning to a beautiful sunrise and were reminded why we chose the name Akemi.

The name, Akemi, pronounced ( uh - KEM - ee ) means beautiful daybreak/dawn.  Naveen and I first heard the name when we were pregnant with Keira and thought it was beautiful, however we had already been thinking of baby number one as little K for some time.  Once we found out baby number two was a girl, Akemi made the top of our list.  We searched and searched for another name we liked but I think in all honestly this little one has been Akemi from the very beginning.

Akemi's middle name, Ela, is a Sanskrit work that means Earth.  It's pronounced the same as Ella, but spelled with just one l.   Those of you with good memories will recall that Keira's middle name, Mayu, is a Quechua word that means River.

We feel so blessed to start 2012 with our daughters.  They truly bring sunshine into our lives!
