Roadtrip

It's been a few months since we have hit the road, so we decided to take advantage of my April break and get away for a few days. Since Naveen was not able to take off too much time from his new job we chose Santa Barbara as our destination.

I have to say Keira is becoming quite the expert when it comes to roadtrips - she knew which books and cds she wanted for the car and was careful in her choice of "friends" that she packed for the week. The drive down was beautiful and quicker than we thought. We found the perfect little inn that reminded us of our stay down in Cusco, Peru a few years ago. The staff was super friendly and accommodating which we notice a lot more now that we have a kiddo. :)

We didn't have an agenda but found lots of fun ways to spend our days which included hanging out on the beach, going for a run, swimming in the pool, and finding the best parks for K.

After a few days of relaxing we figured it might be fun to get back in the car and take the scenic route home. We took a detour to the wine region and did some wine tasting, with another pit stop in SLO for tri-tip at Fireside and then made our way up to Monterey.

We woke up early on Saturday and drove down to Big Sur for a beautiful spring hike. We saw lots of interesting critters and the flowers we in full bloom.

After our hike we stopped for a burger and fries at Nepenthe and then hit the Dennis the Menace Park back in Monterey. To top off a perfect day we had sushi at Crystal Fish.

It's always hard to go home after having such a great time away but Naveen made us a yummy Sunday roast to help make the transition a bit more bearable.
