We were able to get out of the house one afternoon to take the kids to Nibbles Play Cafe. What a great idea for an outing with kids. Nibbles had lots of little play areas, each with a different focus. Keira had a blast exploring in the Baby Room with the tunnel and other soft climbing blocks.
Aiden got special permission to come in and play with her since there were not a lot of other kids there with us. Nibbles also serves small snack items and they have an espresso machine (which automatically makes this a place I would go again!)
Keira had a fabulous time hanging out with her cousins this February. We flew back to hang out with Jessie, Aiden and Colten during my week off. Naveen was able to join us for the weekend before heading off for a week of work travel. There were lots of lazy mornings and afternoons filled with laughter. Keira loves Aiden and wants to be just like him. She thought Colten was pretty cute too, although we had to watch her as she was constantly pulling his socks off his little feet and giving him wet, slobbery kisses. We can't wait for our next visit!
I haven't been to the Rainforest Cafe in years. We thought it might be a fun place to take the kids for a night out and we were right. Aiden, Keira and even little Colten had a great time checking out all the animals. I think Keira thought that the leopard was a very large version of her cat.
The large aquariums were a big hit and the kiddos even seemed to enjoy the thunderstorm. The night out went by quickly - Keira and Aiden had no problem hanging out and entertaining themselves!
For any photography aficionados out there, there is an ongoing debate as to whether digital cameras can even come close to producing the same black & white aesthetic as old film cameras. While it may not be a huge difference, I think it is still noticeable. I shot a roll of Ilford B&W 100 on an old SLR and I think the picture quality and natural film grain and tonal range are fantastic. These are all straight from the film developer w/ NO computer post-processing.
Naveen and I took Keira down to the Aquarium of the Bay on a lazy Saturday afternoon. She had a great time checking out all the fish. Not quite the same as the Monterey Bay Aquarium, but it is A LOT closer and small enough to keep the attention of a wiggly 10 month old. Play slideshow - 8 View photos individually
