Now that my belly is starting to show I figured it was finally time to tell the kids at school. Jamie and Rebecca thought it would be fun to play a guessing game with the village. They came up with "clues" for the "surprise".
- something's growing
- it will keep growing
- it will make a lot of people really happy
- it'll be noisy
- we think it'll be kind of light brown
- it will change one family's life a lot
- all of your parents have one of these
- it's oval-shaped and small
- it'll be messy
- it'll sleep a lot
Then they let kids guess.... no one was even close and one child thought it had to be a guinea pig!
The next clue was,
- it's in this room right now, but you can't really see it
Still they were not catching on so Rebecca insisted we all stand up and have the kids look at our bellies to determine who had a baby growing. I'm not sure that worked out as well as she had hoped but the news was out. It was really sweet how excited the kids were for us.

Turkey Day
Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays. This year was extra special being pregnant and surrounded by family. And... I think I am finally starting to look like a have a little "turkey" in my belly.

Hanging out with the family
I spent a week back in IL with the family. It was fun being home. Everyone was super excited to see me and my "bump" although there isn't much to see yet. It will be fun when I actually start to look pregnant. I was able to spend a lot of time with Aiden which is always fun. It is amazing how fast he has grown up in the last year and a half.

The news is out!
Once we made it through our first trimester we figured it was time to share the good news with the rest of our friends and family. We made a little iMovie with pictures from our trip to Peru... and ended it with a picture of our favorite souvenir (you get the picture!)

The Viswanathas are going to Mexico!
We bought our plane tickets for Mexico! It was a big debate on whether or not we should be traveling while being pregnant but we figured this might be the last big trip for a while and how could we not go see Gautham and Lara while they are in Oaxaca.

Sharing the news... slowly.
Jessie, Brandon and Aiden came out to SF for a visit over Labor Day Weekend. We shared our good news over dinner at Burger Meister, but made them promise to keep it a secret for a little while longer.

We’re having a baby!
We found out on 08.08.08 that we were expecting our first child! We were super excited and a bit surprised. We celebrated by ordering Thai food and watching the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics!
